Who needs this qualification?

Employees who hope to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to assist their employer by undertaking specific fire safety roles in the workplace, e.g. as fire wardens / fire marshals.

Why is this training important?

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) requires the responsible person to appoint and provide adequate training for one or more ‘competent persons’ to assist with fire safety in the workplace.

  Understand fire hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace
  Understand how fire risk is controlled in the workplace
  Understand the principles and practice of fire safety management at work
  Understand the role of the nominated fire warden
