Overview

This qualification has been developed to raise awareness of key food safety issues and to provide employees with an introduction to food hygiene.

The training programme focuses on the information that employees need to know before they start work in a retail environment or as part of induction.

Who needs this qualification?

This course provides an ideal training solution including:

  New employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge
  Employees handling low-risk or wrapped foods
  Back-of-house employees, such as warehouse and shelf stacking staff

The learner will understand the basic requirements of food safety and hygiene including:

  How to keep clean and hygienic
  How to keep work areas clean
  The role an individual plays in reducing contamination
  Identify key food safety issues
