CIEH Level 4 Award in Food Safety Management for Manufacturing

The CIEH Level 4 Award in Food Safety Management for Manufacturing provides those in managerial and supervisory positions in food manufacturing businesses (for example business owners, production managers and hygiene auditors) with the in-depth knowledge and understanding to be able to guide and advise on the management of food safety systems and staff in their workplace. It will help candidates to ensure that their business complies with all legal requirements for food safety.

Who needs this qualification?

Managers, supervisors and senior hygiene personnel including:

  Production managers
  Owners or managers of food businesses
  Supervisors with intermediate food hygiene knowledge
  Hygiene auditors
  Shift managers or supervisors

Why is this training important?

Beyond being accountable, it is important for everyone in a managing or supervising position to have mastered the principles of good practice in food safety, thus gaining the ability to guide and advise on the management of food hygiene in a food business.

The CIEH Level 4 Awards in Food Safety have been designed as a five day programme to provide an in-depth understanding of food safety with an emphasis on the importance of the management of systems and staff.

Suggested Progression  Assessment  Learners who successfully complete this qualification may be eligible to apply to be a CIEH trainer to deliver programmes leading to the CIEH level 1, 2 or 3 Food Safety qualifications, provided they have a training qualification and appropriate work experience.
