Voluntary Surrender of Recognition

CIEH is the professional voice for environmental health representing over 9,000 members working in the public, private and non-profit sectors. It ensures the highest standards of professional competence in its members, in the belief that through environmental health action people's health can be improved. CIEH sets professional standards and provides professional development opportunities through qualifications, training courses and events.

Following a full review of our product offering, and in light of the need to diversify and broaden our market, we decided voluntarily to surrender recognition as a regulated awarding organisation. This meant withdrawing from the regulatory structure imposed by the three regulatory bodies: Ofqual, Qualifications Wales (QiW) and Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).

The final surrender of recognition date was 28 July 2017.

In spring 2017 we launched our new training products and the beginning of a new way of working together with our profession and the public they train and protect. Find out more at www.cieh.org/training.
